SEMI: The shipments of semiconductor equipment manufacturers in North America is below $2 billion in November

According to Economic Daily report on December 21st, SEMI announced the shipments of semiconductor equipment manufacturers in North America was $1.94 billion lower than $2 billion in November. It decreases by 4.2% compared with October and 5.3% compared with the same period of last year which makes new lows for last 22 months.


    The highest shipments of semiconductor equipment manufacturers in North America is $2.702 billion in May, which declines in next 6 months causing the worry about the future of semiconductor industry.

    SEMI takes a conservative view of the future of semiconductors industry. It is predicted that the investment for global wafer fab equipment will slide in this year and next year, which will increase by 10% rather than predicted 14% of this year and decrease by 8% rather than predicted 7% in 2019.

    The global semiconductor equipment manufacturing is predicted to increase by 9.7% reaching record-breaking $62.1 billion while it is predicted to decrease by 4% according to SEMI. In addition, equipment market will increase by 20.7% reaching $71.9 billion to set a new record.
