Silicon Motion launches its first controller chip solution for SATA SSD in enterprise class

As an 8-channel high-performance controller solution for enterprise-class SATA SSD, SM2271 has achieved high capacity and high performance. 

According to the news from China storage, the designer of the global NAND flash controller and the leading brand for marketing, Silicon Motion (Silicon Motion Technology Corporation, NasdaqGS:SIMO) in 2019 OCP Global Summit launched a new high-performance controller solution SM2271 for enterprise SATA SSD. The solution not only provides complete ASIC and Turnkey firmware and supports the max capacity up to 16TB, but also meets the high-capacity, efficient, and stable needs of enterprise and data center applications.

The SM2271 controller solution with 8 channels present high performance for enterprise-class SATA SSD, it has achieved high capacity and high performance. It can support the latest 3D TLC and QLC flash technology, and give full play to the bandwidth of SATA interface, and achieve maximum sequential read and write speed up to 540MB/s and 520MB/s. At the same time, SM2271 further ensures the security of data through the advanced 256-bit AES encryption engine that is fully in line with the Opal encryption standard established by TCG (Trusted Computing Group) in the United States.
